Sixième to Première*
Approximate time:
- Entry in 6ème, 5ème, 4ème : 1.5 hours
- Entry in 3ème: 2 hours
- Entry in 2nde, 1ère: 2.5 hours
Age-appropriate written and oral assessment :
- Entry in 6ème, 5ème and 4ème : French language skills, mathematics and English
- Entry in 3ème and 2nde : French language skills, mathematics, English and history & geography
- Entry in 1ère : French language skills and specialty courses
A meeting between the applicant, parents and the campus head or deputy head may be arranged in order to discuss the applicant’s strengths, interests and aspirations.

Assessment
CP to CM2
Approximate time: 1 hour one-to-one assessment
- Written and oral assessment in French with opportunities to talk with the assessment team
- Assessment of applicants’ ability to read and understand a document, write a text, solve a problem, demonstrate creativity (through idea generation, art or drawing) and explain their reasoning
- A reference form completed by the school in which the child is currently enrolled may also be required
- For non-French students, an interview of the parents and the registered child with the the Deputy Director of the campus may be required

Assessment
PS, MS, GS
- For non-French children, an interview of the parents and the registered child will be conducted with the Deputy Director of the campus lasting approximately 30 minutes
- A reference form completed by the school in which the child is currently enrolled may also be required
- For all future PS, MS and GS students, an observation session in the classroom will be organised in May/June.
Your child will participate in various activities in French and English, with the opportunity to interact with the teaching staff. Future students who are not yet in Hong Kong will be met during the pre-school meetings in the same format.

They follow a very varied curriculum, having developed their career goals with the support of our guidance counsellors, according to their aspirations and personalities.

How does FIS prepare its High School students for college/uni?
Our school has full-time college counseling staff on hand to prepare our students for the demands of colleges worldwide, assist them with their application process and making their best college choice.
Regular meetings with students, parents and schools fair/ schools conferences are organised along our student’s journey at FIS. -

What are your students’ performances at the major exams ? (DNB (brevet) and Baccalaureat for the French Stream and IGCSE and IB for the International Stream)
Here are our 2022/2023 academic results:
- 100% of FIS student successfully passed the DNB, 79% were awarded honors or above
- 100% of FIS student successfully passed the French baccalaureate, 90% were awarded honors or above
- 100% of FIS student successfully passed the IGCSE, more than 50% of all exams were graded at A*/A
- 95% of FIS student successfully passed the International baccalaureate (IB), 57% achieved more than 35 points

How many students do you allocate per class?
The classes sizes are determined by the Education Bureau and this for each of our 4 campuses.
Some of our year groups may fill the maximum capacity and some may be under; our average size class is 23 students.
