Assessment
My child can’t be in Hong Kong to attend the assessment, can it be defferred?
As the format of assessment varies for each stream and for each year group, please notify us when you receive the assessment invitation and if you cannot attend for this reason.
We will try our best, even though not guaranteed, to arrange another assessment date and/or a different format of assessment accordingly. -
Assessment
What are your entry criteria to apply for the International Stream?
As most of our students are joining us at Reception year, please note we will evaluate this year group's applicants with regard to (but not limited to):
- English Language Proficiency is a must to follow the curriculum
- Developmental Readiness Skills
- Social and Emotional Development
- Fit to FIS’ Curriculum and Learning methods -
Assessment
Is a physical exam required prior to admission to FIS?
A physical exam is not required prior to Admissions.
However, we will require you to fill a form to inform us of any health/medical/physical concern we should know about your child, upon application or prior to the assessment. -
Assessment
Should my child pass an assessment and if so, what type of assessment is it?
For International stream, an assessment is required for each year group and its format will be disclosed to parents when sending an invitation to attend. We work on group assessment format, classroom trials as well as online test depending on the year group you applied for.
For French stream, we usually do not require an assessment however we might request one for non-French applicants or applicants who did not attend an AEFE or French public school so far. -
Assessment
What happens if my child is not invited for an assessment or has not received an offer for the year I apply for?
At the beginning of the school year, if you have not been invited for an assessment or been offered a place, we will contact you and define with you whether you wish to remain on the waiting list for the school year you applied for (hoping for a vacancy for Term 2 or 3) or defer for the next school year.
In that case, no re-application fee is required.
