ARTS
Mrs. Bezançon, will hold exhibitions around the “wearable art” on mannequins: Exhibition of the productions of the students in Y13 IBVA around the objectives of sustainable development:
SDG12 > Responsible consumption and production
SDG13 > Measures to combat climate change
Each of the students in this group will be interviewed to explain their production and to allow everyone to understand that environmental issues are part of the artistic process…
- Following the presentation of the exhibition “Nous les arbres” at the Fondation Cartier in 2019, the senior students will present an animation (1 to 3 minutes) that questions our place in the diversity of the living world and cultures. This project extends the exploration of ecological issues and the place of Man in the living world. Nature and the environment, climate change and its repercussions on migrations, the destruction of the animal and plant world, deforestation will be at the heart of this project.
- Banyan Leaf Matter: Questioning banyans and their leaves as ecological pillars, and typhoons generated by global warming. The fact that the Banyan tree can live so long, storing CO2 in its roots and trunk, makes it a valuable part of the global ecosystem.
Exhibition of paintings on banyan leaves collected and preserved after the typhoon Nalgae. Discovery of the symbolism of the mandala, symbol of the universe in its ideal form
Still in art, M Jouaud will propose to the school exhibitions on different themes:
- 6e: Their vision of the world.
- 5e: Small sculpture from plastic packaging.
- 4e: Anthropomorphic animal portrait.
- 3e: Perspective of an imaginary street according to their vision of the future.
ENGLISH
The English team will offer:
- Climate fresks for 4eme classes in TKO
- With the first ones, the group will have worked on the notion of privacy according to the different legislations in the US, UK and Europe (in the press, the GAFA etc.).
In PE
Within the framework of the projects led by the AEFE UNSS School Sports League of the Asia Pacific Zone, we have committed ourselves to participate in a fun and unifying sports project: the RUN&ZAP CHALLENGE. This cooperative challenge at the scale of the zone aims at realising the equivalent of the distance of the tour of the earth, together, during the Week of the French high schools of the World. The idea being, in addition to promoting the importance of the physical practice in our daily life, to show symbolically, our collective capacity to exploit our human energy to move and thus to save energy. This project is also a great way to unite our school community around a common challenge.
2 sports objectives:
- To be the most collective establishment in the area – To be the most dynamic area in the world
Library BPR & TKO
17 “best practice” cubes for each SDG will be offered to students. They will have to choose the one they are most interested in and/or the one they want to get involved in. A picture will be taken with each student and “their” cube. At the end of the week, a video will be made with all the participants of the week.
Sciences
AIDS is no exception to the fake news, with it incorrectly being thought of as a thing of the past.
Given the threat that this terrible scourge still represents today, it is essential that the younger generations be sufficiently informed, and therefore armed, to face it. 1st December, International AIDS Day, will be an opportunity for the 3e students to better prepare themselves for the future challenges of their adult life, through activities (experiments, workshops) and conferences on AIDS, STDs and health in general.
Spanish
In middle school, the Spanish team will be working this week on the importance of protecting our planet and preparing posters/videos to raise awareness about one of the different SDGs.
Video run : I explore my college
TKO 6e students will have a week to make a video report on someone who works on campus. Beyond understanding how a college works, students will be in the shoes of a journalist.
WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE OF “LA SEMAINE DES LYCÉES FRANÇAIS DU MONDE”?
This week aims to promote the excellence and quality of education in French high schools around the world to new audiences in France and abroad.
On the occasion of this Semaine des lycées français du monde, the AEFE wants to mobilise all educational and institutional actors in the service of promoting French education abroad, on all continents.
It represents an opportunity to highlight the strengths of French education abroad: the specificities of French kindergarten, multilingual education as well as the baccalauréat that guarantees access to the best French and foreign higher education institutions.
REMINDER: WHAT IS THE AEFE?
The Agency for French Education Abroad is the public operator, under the supervision of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, which coordinates the network of French schools, colleges and lycées abroad. Present in 138 countries, this network of 566 establishments will welcome 390,000 students from kindergarten to the end of secondary school in 2022.
The French education network abroad, unique in the world for its size and density, is one of the key players in France’s external action. Its staffing levels increase significantly each year. Demand is growing both for French families, who are moving abroad in increasing numbers, and for foreign families from host and third countries.
This network owes its success in particular to the quality of the programmes provided – adapted in part to the culture of the countries in which the schools are located – to the reputation of the French educational model, to the performance of its students of all nationalities and to its homogeneity on a global scale.
In advance, thank you to the teaching staff and students for their investment in the upcoming projects.
Yours sincerely
