Gardening Club for Chai Wan students

14 November 2016News, Uncategorized

Thanks to a parent initiative, a Gardening Club has been set up at Chai Wan. In addition to the library and board game activities taking place at lunch time, parents are generously running this Gardening Club.

There’s been a great buzz since the launch of this activity. Students have already planted tomatoes, basil, citronella, mint and seeds.

They can also bring along kernels or recycled containers to expand the garden.

The students want to learn the names of flowers, plants, make a herbarium, learn about

  • maintaining a garden,
  • planting,
  • collecting rain water,
  • researching plants …

They are all showing respect to each other, the plants and all the rules for working in a team.

During the setting up of this activity, the students decided on different roles: waterers (when it’s not raining), journalists (writer, illustrator, researcher), stock takers in charge of inventory.

The Chai Wan students say a huge Thank You to the parents for setting this all up!
