Philippines Coral Ecology and Marine Research trip – May 2024

Issue 55: 1/3/2024

2nd call!!

Are you an avid diver who wants to learn more and also contribute to conservation of the seas?

M Brady is looking to organize a week-long marine research trip during the May 2024 holiday. Our options have changed

Coral Reef ecology and marine research trip (to possibly include PADI Open Water dive certification if required) in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental, Philippines

Carried out in conjunction with Atlantis Dive Resorts and Silliman University in Dumaguete, the program encompasses coral reef ecology and conservation; fish identification; and cooperation (service!) with a local high school that provides dive training and marine research programs to local students. A trip to Apo Island is included in the trip. Apo is renowed for its crystal clear water, beautiful reefs, and lots of turtles!!

Qualifications/requirements

Note: this is a marine research trip – not a beach holiday. We will be active every day, doing 2-3 dives along with analysis and classroom learning

Days will be long and tiring but you will learn an incredible amount and it will be an experience that you will not forget!

Provisional schedule:

Costs (final, exact amount dependent on student #s, flight schedule and costs,  exchange rates)

Additional costs (not included)
