Singapore Rugby Tournament: FIS Students in the Spotlight!

Issue 46: 01/12/2023 Tseung Kwan O News (Reflections and Achievements)

On the weekend of 18-19 November, I went to Singapore to play in the “Girls TRC Cup 2023”, a girls’ rugby tournament against Singaporean teams. The tournament was organised by the Tanglin Rugby Club.

There were three Singaporean teams and three Hong Kong teams, all from my club, HKFC. The Singapore teams were called :

My club’s teams were called FC1, FC2 and FC3. My FC1 team consisted of the following players: the Fulton twin sisters, Mia, Olivia, Molly, Morgan, Naomi and me. Many of the girls on the other HKFC teams, like me, study at FIS.

We won all our games. I thought the Singaporean teams would be stronger than that, but we managed to beat them easily.

The final pitted our team against FC2. The match was so intense that at the end, we didn’t know who had won. So we had to wait for the final result to be announced: 3 tries to 1 for our team!

I was so happy to win and very proud of myself. I scored 5 or 6 tries in the 6 games.
