A Historian’s look at FIS
Last Saturday, we held our 60th Anniversary Gala which, from all perspectives, was a resounding success. We are still collecting our pictures and finalising calculations, so I will be sharing a full illustrated report on the event in next week’s edition. In the meantime, I wanted to share the full text of the speech given during the dinner by historian François Drémeaux, former FIS teacher between 2007 and 2017 and currently faculty at California State University, the author of a book on the history of FIS published 10 years ago for the 50th anniversary of the school. I believe this perspective on FIS and French education will be of interest to all of us.
