First steps in politics, meeting with Fabien Roussel

On Tuesday 14th November, high school students in Mr. Massé’s and Ms. Clément’s HGGSP (History-Geography-Geopolitics-Political Science) specialization were lucky enough to meet French politician Mr. Fabien Roussel via video-conference for over an hour. A member of parliament since 2017 and national secretary of the PCF since 2018, Mr. Roussel is a candidate in the 2022 presidential election. From his office at the French National Assembly, Mr. Roussel was very kind and available to answer questions prepared and asked by enthusiastic and motivated high school students. The face-off was conducted brilliantly by Youmna Oumar (1C) and Eloise Quévremont (1B). The budding geopolitologists thus had the privilege of learning about the “death of NUPES” from Mr. Roussel before the major national media did. This interview is the first in a series of political and geopolitical encounters that will take place over the course of the school year.
