Cross Stream Research and Essay Writing Skills Workshops

Over the past two weeks I have had the pleasure of coordinating and participating in workshops with Y12 and seconde students, International and French Stream teachers and our librarians.

Earlier in the term, teachers from both streams identified common skills required for students in both streams. These skills are all linked to essay research and writing. Teachers and librarians were keen to work together to offer three workshops over two one hour periods.

The three workshops were on:

1. Making use of Digital Libraries (Google Scholar and JSTOR).
2. Developing a research question.
3. Academic Integrity

Individual teachers will now focus on helping students develop these skills further across all their subjects.
