Chemistry Olympiad 2024

As part of their preparations for the Chemistry Olympiad 2024, a competition bringing together French schools from all over the world around the theme of “chemistry and sport”, 11 Terminale students who had chosen the SPC specialization got together on Saturday mornings to work, in good spirits, on a variety of experiments.

On the agenda for Saturday 18 November was the extraction of caffeine from a well-known energy drink, a session during which students were able to deepen the skills they’ve learned in class, and discover the world of chemistry from a new angle.

These sessions were complemented by a visit to the “Sport and Science” exhibition at the HK Science Museum this week, and will enable us to select, in March, one candidate to represent the school in Asia, who may then have the opportunity of being selected to take part in the national final in Paris in May.
