“Brut in the City” – Visite & Atelier @V54

Issue 45: 24/11/2023 Blue Pool Road News (Reflections and Achievements) Terminale

As part of the arts specialty, a tour of the “Brut in the City” exhibition was organised last Friday, at the V54 artist residency in Happy Valley, HK. This exhibition, coordinated by the Consulate of Belgium as part of the “Belgian Days”, presents 7 artists and awakens reflection on: “Art brut where to express diversity and inclusion”. We were able to benefit from an exchange with Coline De Reymaeker, curator of the Musée Art et Marges and Simon-Pierre Toussaint director of Creahmbxl.

Keira, Tiffany, Mengli and Mattis also had the chance to meet Michaël Mvukani, a 21-year-old autistic artist with an absolute eye and immense talent! Together we created a 6-handed fresco and drawings inspired by the abundant urbanism of Hong Kong. Thanks to Bénédicte, Coline and Simon for their warm welcome! A huge THANK YOU to Michael for his sharing and extreme kindness. 🤩♥️🙏
