Exit Points
We have many Exit Points this half term, and it is great that we are able to welcome families from our community to share in our students’ learning. Exit points are opportunities for students to share their knowledge, skills and understanding with parents, other students or both!
The Exit Point signifies the end of the unit. It helps children draw on their prior learning, reminding them of all the connections between subjects that they have made. It creates time and opportunities to build their understanding of their learning and to reflect individually and as a group.
Forced school closure days
Thank you for your support with the forced school closure online learning day this week. It was lovely to see so many students engaged online. Following feedback from the parent reps and staff reflections, we will be refining our forced closure day home learning letter by:
- Including a learning objective for each activity assigned
- Making the Google link more accessible and visible by including it in the letter. The link will still be accessible within Google Classroom; this will ensure that our students who are capable can access it independently.
- Clarifying with teachers the content for Google Meets
Targets
Following feedback, student targets will be sent home for year one to year six students and families via Google Classroom rather than paper copies. This will enable students, parents and teachers to track student progress and targets from term one through to term three. The new format will also include self/family reflection sections. Targets will be sent on Friday 20th October. They will also be discussed with you and the teacher at parent-teacher conferences (PTC). Targets form regular discussions with students and teachers in writing, math and personal goals.
Parent Teacher Conferences (PTC)
In our reporting to parents survey, parents asked for more assessment information and targeted guidance about their children’s next steps for learning in terms two and three. Parents also asked for more assessment data. PTC will now follow our assessment week so your child’s teacher can provide up-to-date information.

Workshops
Thank you to all parents who could attend French Language Education (FLE) and IEYC/ IPC workshops and participate in the activities. The slide decks will be made available shortly on the Parent Portal. We have gathered your feedback to plan workshops for terms two and three.
