World Olympic and Paralympic Day

Issue 34: 30/6/2023 , News (Reflections and Achievements) Y4, Y5, Y6, CE2, CM2, 5ème

On Friday 23rd June, nearly 350 children – CE2, Y4, Y5, Y6, CM2, 5èmes, members of ECA Volleyball – celebrated “World Olympic and Paralympic Day” on our TKO campus. As our school has just been awarded the ”Génération 2024” label, we have fully entered our JO-P year!

To share the Olympic and Paralympic values of friendship, respect, excellence, determination, equality, inspiration and courage, our students had the chance to watch a high-flying skateboarding demonstration, one of the latest sports to be added to the Olympics.

Members of the Hong Kong volleyball team came in person with their head coach Dragan Mihailovic to introduce our young players to the techniques of this team sport, in which France was crowned Olympic champion at the last Olympic Games in Tokyo. As for our ECA players, they had the immense pleasure of exchanging a few balls with a top-level team, while benefiting from the advice of professionals.

We welcome the presence of Mr Benjamin Cabouat from the French Consulate and thank HK Sport Club for offering us such an opportunity.
