First aid training for 2nde and Y10 students

Issue 33: 23/6/2023 Blue Pool Road, Tseung Kwan O News (Reflections and Achievements) Y10, 6ème, 2nde

This month, the health department’s main focus was on first-aid training.

All students in 2nde and Y10 classes benefited from a 6-hour training course, provided by the St. John’s Association of Hong Kong.

The aim was to give students the skills they need to act in an emergency and perform the right gestures while keeping themselves safe. They also received training in adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation, enabling them to obtain certification.

6th graders from the BPR and TKO campuses benefited from a 2-hour intervention by the FIS health department.

The aim was to provide students with the essential elements needed to alert, protect others by staying safe, and intervene in dangerous and/or risky situations that may arise in everyday life. Students were also able to learn how to place a person in the lateral position of safety.

These initiatives were an excellent way of raising students’ awareness of life-saving gestures, enabling them to acquire useful skills for their everyday lives.

Well done!
