Sports Days are back!

Issue 27: 5/5/2023 Blue Pool Road News (Reflections and Achievements) Y7, Y8, Y9, Y10, Y12

The International Stream Sports Day was held last Thursday at Wan Chai Sports Ground. Students from Years 7, 8, 9, and 10 participated in a variety of sports activities, including: relay races, tug-of-war, sack race and many track and field events. We also had Year 12 students and teachers helping judge and officiate all events.

The atmosphere was lively and spirited, with students cheering on their housemates and displaying excellent teamwork and sportsmanship. They all received their house t-shirts turning the stadium into a sea of the four house colours (red, yellow, green and blue). The teachers also volunteered to participate in the relay race, adding fun and excitement to the day. Monsieur Bonin and Mr. Clayton accepted a challenge from the Year 12s in the relay race, which rounded up the last track event of the day. Who won… who cares, it was all about taking part!

However, the students care about their Houses winning and, *drum roll*, the Dragons collected the most points to slay the other houses and become the overall winners! Phoenix came in second, and Snakes third. The Pandas went on to win the house chant.

Overall, the Sports Day was a great success, and was a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. We are looking forward to next year’s events and hope to see the same level of participation and House spirit.

A massive thank you to all of the staff, parent volunteers, first aiders, and the students.
