GREEN WEEK TKO

Issue 28: 12/5/2023 Tseung Kwan O News (Reflections and Achievements)

This first edition of Green Week was a success.

Students participated in workshops conducted by Anne-Elisabeth from the Vie Scolaire :

  • beeswax wrap making (photos)
  • fabric kitchen towel sewing (photos)

Seconde students (Y11) from Blue Pool Road have also taught some classes on how to make bracelets with left-over fabric. A big thank you to Carla-Marie, Clémentine, Laure and Hilton for their engagement and great work. (Photos)

The classes of CPG, GSE, MS-GSG and CE1G visited the recycling station Green@SaiKung. They learned how to sort or reuse their waste. (Photos)

We would also like to warmly thank the parents of the Sustainability Committee for their participation: organisation of sorting games in the playground for the early years (photos), school talk in the auditorium (photos), and video-conference for the parents.

Congratulations to the children who participated in the Eco-fashion competition for their creativity! With a special mention for the winners: Hugo CM1G, Sasha CE1E, Isabelle CP-CE1F, and Kei NSB. (photos) Your outfits were beautiful!

A big thumbs up to the students who sent us their video on the theme of sustainability. We were very impressed by the work of Héloise-Jane in CM2F who staged the deforestation issue with Playmobils. You can view her video on this link.

The children did a great job during this Green Week; let’s continue our commitment to the planet together !
