Term 3 is going to be busy!

Issue 25: 21/4/2023 From the Principal

It has been great to welcome families back to FIS for this final term of the School year 2023/24.  This is the last week for our year 11 and year 13 before they go on study leave for their upcoming exams.  Year 11 start with Mathematics on Tuesday next week, whilst the year 13 IB Diploma students get going in early May.  This is a stressful time for them, and we wish them all the best for this extended examination season.  The Year 13 will be signing off with us on Friday 19th May with a graduation dinner for their families and around 30 members of staff which is currently being kindly organised by a committee of Year 13 parents.  The following evening, on Saturday 20th May, we see the welcome return of the student ball with attendees from both the French and International Streams.

Next week will see the second and final 3-way student-parent-teacher online conferences for Years 7,8,9, 10 & 12 on Monday 24th April, and this will focus on progress made from the reporting periods in Terms 1 & 2.  These are all from home (students and teachers) and so BPR will be French Stream only for the day!  Later in the week, on Thursday 27th April, we have the welcome return of the House Sports Day at Wan Chai stadium. Mr Day will be sending out communication via Engage and the students will be told what to expect in their PSHE lesson today.  We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible if you can take some time out of the office!

Finally we are still trying to get all families to sign up for the activities week at the end of June.  As of writing we are still 74 families short.  Even if you are not intending to be present, please could you let us know by filling in this Short Survey so that we can be sure of your intentions. Many thanks!

Mark Williams
Secondary Principal (International Stream)
