60th anniversary celebrations

Issue 22: 17/3/2023

In January of this year, we began unveiling our 60th Anniversary festivities and branding, celebrating the long history of our presence in Hong Kong. In September 1963, a woman of valour and former member of the French Resistance created the first non-religious international school in Hong Kong.

In the 6 intervening decades, FIS has gone from strength to strength, inaugurating several firsts: first international school in Hong Kong to offer Mandarin teaching, first international school in Hong Kong to offer the IB diploma, and many more inaugural initiatives. Today with 4 campuses, 2,500 students, 450 employees and a diverse and engaged community, our school continues to be true to its mission and articles of association. With the input of the Victor Segalen CounciI (CVS), we have concocted a full programme of student-led and community-led events. Those range from Arts events – concert, film, dance, exhibitions, mural, etc.- to the Family Fun Fair in June, all the way to the FIS Gala night in November, not to forget our very first Alumni trophy and a series of alumni gatherings.

It is my great pleasure to share with you a visual where you will find the full FIS 60th Anniversary timeline. I encourage all of you to consider participating in these opportunities, including our June 3rd fair and November 27th gala. I look forward to seeing many of you there.
