World Scholars Cup is back! Get your child involved

Issue 19: 17/2/2023 , Notices (Upcoming Events)

Prior to the severe travel restrictions that were imposed around the world from March 2020, FIS had established a proud record of entering students for the World Scholars Cup which is a team based academic competition that offers students an alternative curriculum to their normal schooling.  Our students have won cups and medals galore as they went from the Hong Kong round onto the Global round (KL and Hanoi) and finally qualifying for the Tournament of Champions at Yale University in November of each year.  The emphasis is on team work and fun, with debating being a key skill developed along the way.

The organisers have now put in place the first Hong Kong round for almost 4 years, and this takes place on June 3 & 4 for both Junior & Senior divisions.  We will be starting to prepare for the event from Tuesday 21 February with a presentation by student/staff coaches at 11h30 during the lunch break.  Your children have been given a presentation about the tournament, and have information on their google classroom.  I hope that you can support them so that FIS can once again take along a strong contingent to compete in June 2023.
