Reporting to Parents: Timeline and Clarification
Dear IS Primary Parents
Best wishes for the new Lunar Year and the Year of the Rabbit! Gong hei fat choy to all our students and families from the primary team. It was wonderful to have Lion dances on each of our campuses. All photos will be on the school’s social media and IS Primary Twitter.
It was wonderful to see great parent support at our Milepost 1 and Milepost 2 Sports Days, plus the many Exit Points and trips over the past few weeks. Milepost 3 sports days and day camps for Years 3 to Year Six inclusive are on the way! Please see IS Primary Twitter for the photos!
Reporting to Parents: Timeline and Clarification
Term One
- All parents could attend a parent-teacher conference (PTC) in term one after assessment week to talk about their child’s attainment and progress.
- Student targets for Years One to Year Six were also sent home for students to work on at school and at home.
- For Early Years teachers and parents: access Tapestry to track progress in the first two years of primary school.
Term Two
Following our consultation on reports, we have changed our report content and design. This was highlighted in parent forums, newsletters and other focus groups.
New design reports Learning Advice Reports
- 27th January: Mid-Term Reports (Learning Advice Reports) went out on Engage
- The targets and home learning sent each Friday are enough for students and parents to work on. Home learning supports the targets. The teachers and teaching assistants use all ongoing assessments in the classroom and external tears (NGRT, CAT4, PTM) to inform and adjust their planning to ensure all student’s progress. This is one of their core duties and responsibilities.
- We realise the new format caused some concern. We will take on board parent feedback in the design of the term three reports and next year’s reports.
