IS Primary Update – 17/2/2023
Primary Kindness week
Next week is Kindness Week at CW, JL and TKO primary campuses. There will be lots of activities during break and lunch times for students to take part in. Kindness links to our shared IS Primary Code of Conduct.
Respect - Cooperation - self-evaluation - engagement - organisation
Stay and play in the Early Years
It is wonderful to welcome parents at CW and TKO campuses to stay and engage in learning in our RC/NS Early Years classes as part of our Stay and Play programme. Our secret reader programme supports further opportunities in the Early Years where parents read stories in their mother tongue to classes.
Classroom approaches
In the IEYC, IPC and during all subjects across Early Years and Primary, we have agreed on classroom approaches. Our agreed classroom approaches are found in our teaching and learning policy in the IS Primary section of MyLFIS. They are classroom practices to help our students meet the school mission.
These include but are not limited to:
- Talk Partners
- Observations
- Modelling/demonstrating
- Scaffolding
- Setting appropriate and sufficient challenge
- Differentiated learning opportunities
- Self & peer assessment and reflection practises
Best regards
