Attendance – Please Keep Us Informed

Please remember to let us know if your child is unable to attend school, whether for a planned absence (e.g. a medical appointment) or an unplanned absence (e.g. illness). It is crucial that we know that our students are safe and that you know of their whereabouts. It is easy to let us know: just send a brief email to Vie Scolaire (viescolairebpr-secondary@g.lfis.edu.hk).

We understand that you are very busy and might forget to send us a message. If we don’t hear from you, we will contact you via the email address(es) you have provided us. Please do respond to these emails so that we know your child is safe and so we can update our attendance records accurately.

For parents whose children are undertaking formal examinations (IB and IGCSE) it is crucial that you contact the school as early as possible to inform us of their absence from an exam. In this situation please email both Vie Scolaire and myself (Pauline Hall, phall@g.lfis.edu.hk). A medical certificate will also need to be provided. This allows me to work with the relevant exam board to make arrangements for a grade to be awarded. Neither Cambridge nor IB will consider this without a medical certificate.
