Fencing Fun

Before the holidays, the CM2 students at TKO had the chance to take part in FENCING lessons led by Thomas Charlette.

They delved into the history of fencing and then got the chance to suit up and fence, for real.

It requires some preparation.  The right equipment is essential; a helmet, gloves, a protective jacket and a sword of course.

Starting simply, Thomas taught them how to spar, thrust, and parry.  In each lesson, they tried more complex and advanced moves.

They began engaging in short matches. Each week their skills improved!

It was a great experience for all! You never know we may have started the successful career of some fencing champions!
