Semaine des lycées français du monde

Issue 09: 18/11/2022 From the Principal

Dear Parents,

Dear Students

The 2022 Semaine des lycées français du monde is coming up

This annual event is an opportunity for the schools in the AEFE network to showcase what our students are doing. With the theme “Getting informed in a connected world to train enlightened citizens”, the 6th edition, organised from 28th November to 3rd December 2022, is an opportunity to promote media and information education (MIE). The entire school year is dedicated to media and information literacy.

You will receive the detailed program in next week’s newsletter.

What is the objective of the Semaine des lycées français du monde?

This week aims to promote the excellence and quality of education in French high schools around the world to new audiences in France and abroad.

On the occasion of this Semaine de lycées française du monde, the AEFE wants to mobilise all the educational and institutional actors to promote French education abroad, on all continents.

It represents an opportunity to highlight the advantages of French education abroad: the specifics of French kindergarten, multilingual education as well as the baccalaureate, which guarantees access to the best French and other higher education institutions.

What is the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE)?

The Agency for French Education Abroad is the public operator, under the supervision of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, which coordinates the network of French schools, colleges and high schools abroad. Present in 138 countries, this network of 566 establishments will welcome 390,000 students from kindergarten to high school in 2022.

The French education network abroad, unique in the world for its size and density, is one of the key players in France’s foreign action. The number of students in the network increases significantly each year. The demand is growing for French families, who are increasingly moving abroad, as well as for foreign families from host countries and other countries.

This network owes its success to the quality of the programmes offered – adapted in part to the culture of the countries where the schools are located – to the reputation of the French educational model, to the performance of its students of all nationalities and to its homogeneity on a global scale.

In advance, we thank the teaching staff and students for their investment in future projects.

Best regards

Charles Pierru
Principal of Secondary Campuses and Studies (French Stream)
