Latin lessons have started!
Salvete!
It’s been a month since our Latin students worked with significant historical and cultural figures such as Brutus, Caesar, the scientist Pliny the Elder and the philosopher Seneca!
Thus,
- our 5ème students have been studying the origin of our alphabet and the Latin pronunciation,
- our 4ème students have been working on the end of the reign of Lucius Tarquinius Superbus, the last king of Rome, and the beginning of the Roman Republic,
- our 3ème students have been translating an unflattering portrait of Caius Iulius Caesar written by Suetonius,
- and our high school students have been reading, translating and commenting on a lot of historical, scientific and philosophical texts: descriptions of the Mediterranean, speeches on the ‘benefits’ of the Pax Romana and cosmogonic texts!
The Youth Antique Literary award will be starting soon for our middle school students.
Valete.
