CVL / CVC
The first meeting of the CVL was held on Thursday, 20th October 2022. The student representatives were all present and were eager to discuss the subjects that affect them on a daily basis, but also anxious to start projects related to their school life. But in fact, what is the CVL/CVC?
The CVL and CVC (Conseil de Vie Lycéenne / Collégienne), chaired by the Head of School and include a vice-president, bring together student representatives (elected from among the student body) who reflect together and make proposals on subjects that affect the daily lives of students.
Improving Conditions of Daily School Life
The CVL and CVC are the place where concrete issues that affect the life of the school are debated: internal rules, school support, orientation, organisation of school time, layout of spaces, hygiene and safety and even the use of student funds. The aim is to better take into account the expectations of the students in order to improve their living conditions at the school.
Dialogue, exchange, debate
The CVC and CVL are privileged places for dialogue and exchange between students and adults of the educational community. The student representatives express themselves freely. They express their points of view and expectations, raise problems and concerns, exchange ideas and reflect.
Involving students in decisions
The CVC and CVL are a source of proposals. The student representatives issue opinions, propose adjustments and suggest solutions that are systematically forwarded to the Head of School. Students are thus better involved in the decision-making process.
What are the responsibilities of the CVC and CVL?
The CVC and CVL make proposals on the training of student representatives and the conditions for the use of school funds.
They must be consulted on the following questions:
- The general principles of the organisation of studies, the organisation of school time and the elaboration of the School Development Plan (Projet D’Etablissement) as well as the elaboration or modification of the internal regulations
- The general procedures for the organisation of personal work and support for students
- Information related to orientation and school and university studies
- Health, hygiene and safety, and the layout of the areas intended for school life
- The organisation of sports, cultural and extracurricular activities
The opinions, proposals and minutes of the CVC and CVL meetings are sent to the Head of School and posted in the Secondary student foyer.
