At a glance: Opportunity to engage as representative / Information meeting on 6th October

Issue 03: 30/9/2022 From the Principal

Dear FIS Community,

My theme for today is engagement. A key pillar of our vision as a school is a diverse and engaged community. Our students are currently exploring an opportunity to engage by becoming student representatives, and elections are always a great opportunity to learn about democracy, civics, and history. I have had a chance this week to meet with faculty and parent representatives to discuss their respective roles and the upcoming elections. I was impressed with the dedication and genuine passion for our school every one of them expressed. Being a representative is a voluntary act that requires time, courage, and energy. It is also a unique opportunity to further serve our students and better understand the big picture of FIS. I and other FIS leaders are looking for partners to continue to strengthen our students’ educational experience.  I encourage all faculty, staff, and parents to consider becoming a representative for this academic year. Faculty and staff are receiving information from our HR department today. For interested parents, we will be hosting an online information session on Thursday, 6th October at 5.30 pm. Parents will then have until 11th October to join a list and elections will be held online between 14th and 18th October. Results will be shared in the Bulletin dated 21st October.

I wish everyone a wonderful weekend. Please remember that Tuesday, 4th October is a holiday. I hope you take the opportunity to recharge and spend time with your loved ones.
