Two FIS teams in the Green Power Hike

24 January 2017News, Uncategorized

This annual race is organised to raise public awareness about educational projects focusing on sustainable development. The 10km, 25km and 50km routes run between the Peak and Big Wave Bay.

Our two teams ran 25km and 50km respectively in order to raise funds for the NGO Masarang. This organization dedicated to protecting flora and fauna teaches the local population how to protect the environment in a way that suits their surroundings and culture. For more details, you can contact fdremeaux@lfis.edu.hk

Our two teams put on their running shoes to race along Hong Kong’s summits; they managed to record great times –  4:14hrs for the 25km race and a team record of 8:55hrs for the 50km race.

Congratulations to both our teams: the 50km “Green Team” comprising two students, Inès and Lucien, and two teachers, Laurent Abbal and François Drémeaux; and the 25km team comprising two students, Jeanne and Alice, one teacher, Alain Dubourg, and one parent, Mr Taton.

We wish Laurent Abbal a speedy recovery after his injury at 30km.

This race which brings together more than 3,000 runners each year will raise more than HK$5million this year – a fantastic initiative!
