On the occasion of the International Women’s Day on 8 March, discover this journal project dedicated to women: ‘The Influential’, started by Sarah BT.
At the end of December 2020, Sarah had the idea to start a journal dedicated to women, published almost entirely in English, called ‘The Influential’. After discussions with Mrs McCarthy, the History-Geography teacher, she started to build the project.
She was joined by 8 other students from 1ère, all of whom were very motivated by this project: Yuna R., Noémie L., Ines T., Camille K., Ambre L., Lisa B., Stéphanie Y. and Ines V. Together, guided by Ms Barthelon and Mr Thouvenin and with contributions from Ms Desgouttes and Ms Rowley, they worked to publish a Journal that combines articles on current events with creative works. The journal also includes an article in French which provides information on women’s news in France for all those that are interested.
This first edition covers the issue of menstrual precariousness, introduces the winning candidate for the House of Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and shows the impact of the American series: ‘The Queen’s Gambit’.
