The Cambridge IGCSE programme is a universally recognised qualification among international schools and universities worldwide which aims to provide learners with a broad and balanced mix of practical experience and theoretical knowledge. This year, a record number approaching half of FIS students achieved 9 A*/A grades or better with a quarter awarded 10 or more A*/A grades. Three students in particular stood out, achieving 9A* grades.

Furthermore, over one third of all IGCSE examinations taken by FIS students were awarded at A*, almost 70% were awarded at A*/A and 93% were awarded at A*- C. These results are above those of the Independent Schools average for 2018.

In addition, 28 FIS students were also awarded the prestigious Cambridge International Certificate in Education (ICE) with 16 achieving distinction and 11 merit. This award honours learners who pass examinations in at least 7 subjects from 5 different subject groups (including 2 different languages and a Creative subject).

“Congratulations to alI our 2019 IGCSE graduates! Their dedication and hard work over the last 2 years along with support provided by their teachers and parents have led them to achieve their own personal best. We are looking forward to welcoming them into Year 12,” said Ian Clayton, Head of International Stream.

These students will now progress to the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Years 12 and 13.

Congratulations to everyone!
