Couture Backstage

COUTURE experience sharing – Sasha, Student Head :

Organising Couture has made me realise that an event is more than just one evening.

It is an amazing seven-month journey for everyone involved. Starting off by picking the team, to finding and working with sponsors, models and school management, to organising the layout and details of the event, the amount of work is overwhelming, and sometimes daunting. However, I have never been so passionate and excited about a project as I am with Couture. Over the months Couture has become a part of my daily routine, and something I look forward to working on everyday.

I have learnt so much about the working world, my confidence has grown immensely by meeting and presenting to luxury brands, such as LVMH, Kering Group and Make Up For Ever.

We have been faced with challenge after challenge, and by working as a team we have overcome all our difficulties by supporting each other.

This has been an amazing experience so far, thanks to the dedication of the team, and the help Madame Bezançon has given me. She has guided me through the process, I would not have been able to do this without her.

The theme this year is Colour Vision, giving student designers lots of room for creativity and innovation. Come and see for yourself, we would love to see you at the show. All profits will go to Redress, the sustainable fashion NGO. Buy tickets here https://www.zicket.co/couture-2019 !

COUTURE experience sharing – Agnes, Media Manager :

This year, I’ve been chosen to work as the media manager for our school fashion show COUTURE – under the theme of COLOUR VISION – helping to lead the show’s photoshoots, videos, poster production, and overall promotion of the show.

To say the least, it has been a long but very rewarding journey – I would never have imagined to have the experiences I’ve had at the beginning of the year but I’m so happy to have gone through it or predicted what was leading up to the show!

Couture is an annual student-led show under Mme Bezançon showcasing designs from students and brands as well as our charity sponsor, Redress. Not to plug it, but … we have an amazing show planned for this year and I’m so excited to be part of its reveal at the school’s new Tseung Kwan O campus.

I’ve learnt a lot – from working directly with brands like Make Up Forever and emmanuel f. (which was extremely exciting!) to organising and directing my own photoshoots and video-shoots – Francene and Lise will remember the time we held two video-shoots and three photoshoots in one day! Not only that, but working under short time constraints has been both exhilarating and gave a very small (but very valuable) glimpse into what working in the real industry composed of – being able to gain skills I really wanted to get from this process.

Couture has been an overall positive experience and I can guarantee that there is a good show in the works (led by my friends Sasha D., head of the event and sponsors, and Isabella W., head of the model and talent management).

I’m so excited for all the work – from the long nights to hours spent on edition – that has been put into the show to finally (finally) come into fruition – though I would be lying if I said I wouldn’t miss it, even just a bit!

COUTURE experience sharing – Isabella, Head of the Model & Talent Management team:

Being part of Couture’s organizing team (in particular head of the Model & Talent Management team) has so far been a very eye-opening experience.

As I was previously an outsider to Couture’s organization, I didn’t realize just the commitment and dedication that this show required for it to be such a success.

For myself, managing all the minute details, such as fittings, auditions and communicating with models and talent has so far taught me many valuable lessons and skills which I feel will be very useful later on. And as we get closer and closer to the show date, the pressure builds on Couture’s whole team as we all want to ensure that we put on a great show for all who attend!
