Christmas baking in German class

On the 14 December, German students in 5ème baked some Christmas cookies. After learning the vocabulary for the ingredients and utensils, students were able to understand the recipes.

The baked three sorts of cookies: coconut macaroons, hazelnut macaroons and Christmas butter shortbread.

A huge thank you to the adults from JL’s canteen who gave a big help handling the ovens!

In Germany, people usually bake these cookies in December and eat them or give them on Christmas Day, but most of the cookies were eaten well before then in our case!

We’re looking forward to Christmas 2018…
