Report on 25th March Board Meeting
The Board of Directors of FIS met for its sixth session of the year on Monday the 25th of March. In a continued spirit of United and Sound Governance, here is a summary of the information that was discussed, considered, and voted.
The Board assembled at our Blue Pool Road Campus where members had an opportunity to appreciate student artwork shown in our IB Visual Arts Exhibition.
Members had an update regarding the upcoming Chai Wan Campus lease renewal and entrusted school management with the ongoing negotiations with the Hong Kong government.
Our French and International stream principals then gave a presentation on our school’s progress towards strategic objectives, highlighting collaboration between our French and English streams.
Members representing our finance committee were acknowledged for their work on preparing our 2024-2025 budget, highlighting its synchronisation towards our school-wide strategic objectives.
Several votes were then taken:
- A vote was then taken to approve the 2024-2025 budget.
- A vote was taken to approve an organisation-wide Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy.
- A vote was taken to approve the format and agenda of our Annual General Meeting.
Following these votes, our outgoing Deputy Head of School, Mr. Ian Clayton delivered a speech recounting the progress that the board had made in its governance initiatives over the term of his tenure, thanking the members for their support.
Mr. Clayton was then acknowledged and thanked for his 10 years of commitment and service to FIS through remarks delivered by the Board Chair. Following this he was presented with a personalised gift provided personally by all the board members.
The next board meeting will be held Monday April 22nd, 2024.
