70 years of French cinema from 22 November

The Hong Kong French Film Festival (HKFFF) returns to the city’s cinemas in November 2023 with a wide selection of over 50 films. French talent including actresses, actors, writers, directors and photographers are invited to Hong Kong for a series of events. This year, we are presenting 30 new films, two-thirds of which are Asian premieres. The selection also includes two animations, four documentaries and a retrospective of 18 films covering 70 years of French cinema. 2023 is a special year as the 52nd edition of the festival marks the 70th anniversary of the Alliance française de Hong Kong, which founded the Hong Kong French Film Festival in 1953. The 52nd edition of the Hong Kong French Film Festival is more than a milestone for the festival itself, it is also the sharing of a collective memory for all lovers of French cinema.
