In early September, we will ask you
to confirm whether you would like to continue with your child’s application for that academic year, or whether you would like to defer or cancel it. If relevant, we will also ask you to confirm your campus preference.

A test may be required for Petite Section (PS), Moyenne Section (MS) and Grande Section (GS) students who have not attended a French state school or a school in the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad) network. We will use an age-appropriate assessment to test their ability to adapt to the French curriculum.
To give Reception Class (RC) and Nursery (NS) candidates and their families the best possible chances of success and make them feel more confident, our heads of primary meet with them before the assessment and provide advice.
PS, MS and GS applicants receive the first offers of admission.
Over the course of the month, we will contact applicants for these year groups, according to their position on the waiting list and their campus preference (as indicated in September).
NS and RC applicants are the first to sit an admissions assessment, taking place over nearly a month.
Once all NS and RC assessments are finished, depending on availability and their position on the waiting list, accepted applicants will receive an offer of admission.
We may continue to assess applicants who have not attended a French state school or a school in the AEFE network.
Those that pass the test will be automatically placed on a reserve list as they wait for a place to become available.
January: Y1 assessments and secondary assessments.
Late January/early February: Y4 to Y6 assessments.
March: Y2 and Y3 assessments.

By now, most students who plan to leave at the end of the year will have let us know.
This means we will be able to offer places to applicants* according to their position in the waiting list.

Our team will provide you with all the information you need (about uniforms, the canteen, buses, and so on) in a checklist to make sure your child has a smooth start at FIS.
Parents of children in PS, MS & GS will be invited to a pre-entry meeting. For all other year groups, pre-entry meetings take place at the end of August.
