Exciting projects and plans in IS Primary

Issue 21: 10/3/2023 From the Principal

Student Council

The student council at JL and TKO across both streams are Green Ambassadors – checking that we are recycling and reducing on campus. In addition, they complete weekly checks of classrooms and shared spaces and give feedback to classes and year groups.

Sports

So far, we have had house sports days for Milepost 2 and Milepost 1. Milepost 3 will be this half term on Monday, 20th March. We are planning cross-stream sports days for the IEYC on the 27th of March and also  CM2/Y6 sports day to support the transition to high school.

Early Years

In the early years at CW and TKO, parents are invited to read a story in their mother tongue – the students love the surprise of who it might be and the experience of new stories in different languages.

Stay and play at CW and TKO allows parents to join the learning in the early years and learn with their child and the staff.

Ma Petite Planete

A real educational project about the environment, from kindergarten to high school! For a better understanding of the link between Man & Nature.

Y1/GS plus Y2/ CP teachers are organising their next three week shared project for Ma Petite Planete from 15th, 22nd and 29th March.

They will mix all the children across these years groups, which will be an excellent opportunity for older children to act as role models and start developing some transition for the younger children.

What’s happening next in IS Primary?

FIS Primary 60th Year Art Exhibition

In line with the celebration of FIS 60th Anniversary, we are planning an   Art Exhibition. Taking place in all three Early Years & Primary campuses – Chai Wan, Jardine’s Lookout and TKO.

The theme will be “The Past 60 years in Hong Kong, and the Next: Your life as a student at FIS and how you imagine the school’s future.
