FIS leads climate education rollout in AEFE network
FIS is a leader in climate education in the AEFE school network. We pioneered climate education during the 2020-21 school year and our efforts have been recognised with a 2021 HKAEE Award for our climate education initiatives as well as an EFE3D level 3 label, making our school the only level 3 certified institution in the APAC region.
How we are inspiring others in climate education
AEFE recently hosted a professional development conference on education for sustainable development from 15th-17th February in Hanoi (Vietnam). Martial Jaume, our Sustainability Coordinator, was invited to deliver a climate education session based on the Climate Fresk educational tool to fellow sustainability coordinators.
Climate Fresk is an innovative, efficient and accessible tool to understand the basics underlying climate change. By helping students reconstruct the chain of causes and consequences of climate change in a playful and collaborative way, Climate Fresk makes it possible to raise awareness and create the will to act in the face of this global challenge.
AEFE has asked Martial to train 22 of his peers at schools across the APAC region to become certified Climate Fresk facilitators on 31st March. This sets FIS apart as a leader in climate education know-how for schools across the AEFE network and provides a strong opportunity for us to serve as a sustainability development (SD) reference for others.
These are no small achievements and we could not have done it without our school’s community support and passion for climate education and action! Thank you for being a part of it!
