Sunbeam Fun Run

On Thursday 29 March 2018, Yr 6 International Stream and CM1&2 French Stream Bi-Lingual classes from Chai Wan plus the Yr 5 classes from Jardine’s Lookout doffed their wigs, brushed down their tu-tus and ironed their superhero costumes for the annual Sunbeam Fun Run. Even teachers and parents joined in the fun with the International Stream teachers dressed as Oompa Lumpas and the French Stream teachers dressed as fairies!

The starting horn blasted at 10am and the race was on. Teams of five ran a relay race around Chai Wan Sports Ground for one hour to raise money for The Sunbeam Children’s Foundation.

At the end of the gruelling hour one team emerged victorious with 72 laps run: The Cheetahs from Yr 5! Congratulations to Louie, Kairo, Monique, Raphael and Marguerite!

It was a very enjoyable morning for all involved which has raising funds for Sunbeam in order to support the fantastic work that they do for the 80 residents of the Sunbeam Village in Baiwan, Guangdong. Some of the money raised will also be used to sponsor the Sunbeam Summer Camp in August.

During the Easter holidays, a group from FIS went to visit Sunbeam – more here and a report by an FIS parent here
