Beyond academics
SCIENCE beyond the theory
Discovery at FIS doesn't stop at the classroom door. We push the boundaries of Science, Math, and IT through immersive experiences that challenge the status quo. By offering everything from interactive, tactile experiments to complex technical challenges, we provide a landscape where students can apply their knowledge to real-life scenarios. Here, science is an active pursuit that prepares students to solve the problems of tomorrow.
Computer Science & Mathematics Club - PIM
PIM (Pôle Informatique et Mathématique) is FIS’s dynamic club where curious minds explore the power of logic, code, and numbers. Whether you’re into algorithms, programming, puzzles, or problem-solving — PIM offers a space to learn, create, and compete, at every level.

Science week @ FIS
Every year, throughout a full week, FIS secondary students embark on a series of engaging activities and experiments designed to spark curiosity and ignite a passion for science. From hands-on demonstrations to thought-provoking quizzes, there will be plenty of opportunities to delve into the marvels of the natural world and beyond.
Science Week is not just about learning facts and figures; it's about fostering a spirit of inquiry, critical thinking, and a love for discovery.

Berkeley Math Tournament
Organised by students from the renowned University of California, Berkeley, the BMT is a challenging international competition that tests students' mathematical prowess across a wide range of disciplines.
The competition offers valuable pedagogical insights. One our participating student to the Beijing edition in 2025 explains it very well:
"Some of the objectives of this trip were to reinforce our mathematical abilities through answering tough questions, it also helped us to think about how to approach certain problems differently and enhance our collaboration skills (through the team rounds)."

Computer Programming Club
The computer programming club aims to develop students’ computer literacy and coding abilities. Students learn programming, problem solving and algorithmic thinking as they work on solutions to a variety of challenges. They are also encouraged to start their own projects and develop creative designs. Students have the opportunity to solve computing problems and participate in computing competitions.
