24hr Regatta

Only 20 seconds after the finishing horn blared, FIS's Pico triumphantly crossed the line first, securing the gold medal!

Leading marvellously by 7 laps in front of second place, it gained 1st place in its division (of 8 boats). The Feva, regardless of a poor start, clawed its way up through the rankings to a spectacular 3rd place in its division.

These amazing achievements were thanks to our 21 dedicated sailors, especially those who camped at Hebe to sail at punishing hours throughout the night. The team was composed of secondary and primary students, from both streams and a couple of eager, experienced parents. We received a lot of positive feedback from parents, telling us how wonderful and smooth the event and organisation were.

FIS raised HK$29,550 through sailors, generous donators and a very benevolent grant from the school. We're happy to say that these funds will be distributed to various non-government subsidised organisations such as Sailability and the Children's Cancer Foundation.

We hope to have a larger, stronger team next year to come sail, have a great time and defend our title!
