Who is behind our lovely Primary school uniform?

Nobody could have missed the magnificent Primary uniforms worn by our students since the first day of the school year at our different campuses in Chai Wan, Hung Hom and Jardine’s Lookout. So who worked on this project to ensure everything was ready for this school year?

The Dream Team

A group of 11 elected volunteer parents coordinated by the Operations Director, Sara Deloche, met every week for 6 months to arrive at these superb uniforms which are already the envy of other Hong Kong schools.

Our volunteers regularly exchanged views on colour, fabric, prints, suppliers, ordering and delivery …   Dozens of sketches took shape in their minds and were formalised by computer. Many questions fuelled these meetings: logo placement and colours, length of skirts, dresses and shorts … so many considerations which impact students and their families.

A big Thank You to Rachel, Ingrid, Myriam, Bina, Veronica, Sonia, Catherine, Isabelle-Marie, Valerie, Fiona, Tien,  for their tremendous work in such a short time-frame.  The final product is a total success; the students seem relaxed in their new outfits and have great things to say:

“I love the dress because I spin in it” Capucine

“I think the uniform is very pretty” Camille

“I also love it. I can put things in the pockets” Louis

A quality supplier

The selection of a supplier was without doubt the most delicate part of the process. After a tender process The Garment Co, based in Hong Kong since 2006, was selected.

Why them? Their products are high quality: they make clothes for recognised European brands such as Petit Bateau, Jacadi, Cyrillus and Vertbaudet. Furthermore, they are REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Autorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) certified demonstrating their European compliance as well as their social awareness in their use of chemicals.

Many thanks to The Garment Company for their contribution to a successful set up for this year!
