FIS gets involved in the first “Semaine LFM”
For MS and GS digital workshops about space and planets took place all week as well as an introduction to the apps Solar Walk Lite, Bitsboard and Puppet Pal in ipad. The week before, they had been lucky enough to take in the atmosphere in the Discovery Dome.

CM1/CM2 students introduced younger students to robotics in an inter-cycle initiative. Well done everybody!

Blue Pool Road
A campaign to raise awareness about gender stereotypes in education and the working world was held all week. The University Guidance Department screened videos and worked with the Unesco Club on a quiz for students from Seconde to Terminale; the library put up three poster campaigns: anonymous discoverers (in French), Beating Inequality and Pioneering Women (in French).
The ADN exchange programme was launched and our Headmaster Mr Tran promoted if for AEFE. Take a look at the video here:
Students in Première created a film report about Big Data after talks at HKU and Jardine’s by Amel Ghouila. Find out more about their excellent work in the article here.
Finally a robotic programming competition was organised. Students faced several challenges such as setting a course, getting out of a maze and detecting colours. Congratulations to the winners – a video about their preparation is below:
