SUMMARY:French May Arts Festival: The Two Sides of Thierry Maillard
DESCRIPTION:Expose yourself to the vibrant world of jazz with two exhilarating concerts\, co–produced by the French May and Jazz World Ltd. \nIn the first\, acoustic trio Thierry Maillard\, Sylvain Gagnon\, and Yoann Schmidt take you on a voyage back to the best of times. Their chanson–style concert combines Maillard’s melodic expertise with his modern yet melancholic compositions. With the help of special guest CY Leo\, the trio is sure to captivate with their expert musicianship\, tight interplay\, and sensitive performances. \nIn the second\, Maillard and Schmidt return with Amaury Faye for the electric Moog Project. Maillard leads the ensemble and special guest Eugene Pao on an enlightening sonic adventure\, opening the doors of imagination through live sounds on these incredible instruments. \nDon’t miss these unparalleled jazz concerts – a feast of music\,creativity\, and cultural interplay that will leave you inspired and uplifted. \nEXCLUSIVE 15% DISCOUNT FOR FIS FAMILIES (Available through your Parent Portal : Life at FIS > FIS Family Perks)

SUMMARY:L’Abribus - The Bus Shelter - Comedic Play
DESCRIPTION:“L’ABRIBUS” is a comedy written by Philippe Elno. It has been adapted and performed numerous times in France and was originally created for the famous French actress Florence Foresti. \nThe play tells the story of the explosive and unlikely encounter between Isa and Eric. Isa is a high-energy Parisian showbiz star\, while Eric is a silent beekeeper. Against their will\, they find themselves forced to coexist for a few hours on a bench in the French countryside\, waiting for a bus that seems to never arrive. One is caught up in hyperactivity\, while the other is immersed in\ncontemplation. \nShe can’t seem to exist without an internet connection\, while he has rid himself of his television and doesn’t own a phone. \nHowever\, these two solitudes will come together in a vibrant confrontation. It becomes a reflection on our relationship with others and the world in the era of hyper- technological connectivity. \nAn artistic project \nL’Abribus (the bus shelter) is a comedy from the French repertoire\, written by Philippe Elno. It has been adapted and performed numerous times in France and was originally created for the famous French actress Florence Foresti. \nThe play (in French with English surtitles)\, directed by Agnes Seelinger\, performed by Alma Brami and Jean-Baptiste Peloux\, tells the story of the explosive and unlikely encounter between Isa\, a high-energy Parisian showbiz star\, and Eric\, a silent beekeeper\, both waiting for a bus that seems to never arrive… \nA charity project \nAll proceeds will be donated to PSE (Pour un Sourire d’Enfant / For a Child’s smile)\, a non-profit organisation\, helping underprivileged Cambodian children to get access to education and quality professional training. \nAn educational project \nAs part of this pedagogical and artistic partnership\, the French International School of Hong Kong graciously provides the auditorium at the Jardine’s campus. \nThe director and actors are involved in a series of workshops with students on different topics such as playwriting\, directing\, acting techniques and artistic careers. The visual arts teachers have also implemented a class project with the 4ème students of the French section to create the poster. All the students work will be displayed in April\, at school and on social media platforms.
