Swimathon 2019 - some outstanding performances have been recorded

On Saturday 9th March, the annual charity FIS Swimathon 2019 took place at Jardine’s Lookout swimming pool raising money for two charities this year: the Children’s Cancer Foundation and Splash Foundation.

Once again, the event was planned and managed by the Year 12 students as part of their CAS programme and it was a tremendous success! More than HK$50,000 were raised !

In total, over 100 swimmers of all ages took part: students from MS/Reception to 1ère/Year 12 and parents. Stand out performances from the Secondary school included Arthur W. (Y11A) with an amazing 320 laps, Matthew D. (Y12A) with 200 laps and Calie L. (6D) with 150 laps and from upper primary Chloe B. (Y5A) swam 174 laps and Rebecca W. (Y6) swam 120 laps.

The youngest children were equally phenomenal with record performances from Freddie L. (Y3) 120 laps, Alexandre C. (Y2) at 116 laps and all at 100 laps Dhruv S. (Y2A), Simon F. (CE1) and Alex B. (Y3).

Dhruv deserves a special mention for raising a whooping HK$16,000 from family and friends.

All in all, a truly spectacular day. Thank you to all our swimmers and to Y12 for this record-breaking event.
