Results of the election at the General Meeting on 03.12.2016
As an independent, non-profit school, The French international School (FIS) is managed by a Board comprising 13 members: 12 parents elected and Consulate General of France as well as invited members. These Board members are all volunteers and do not receive any financial compensation from FIS for their involvement.
The Board is in charge of defining the school’s strategy and ensuring its financial and legal position as well as defining the lines of management for Human Resources, Development, Marketing and Communications.
This year 5 new members have been elected on the Baord. Watch their video presentations:
- Yves Bernard
- Adrien Cassanet
- Anne-Laure Descours
- Emmanuel Pitsilis
- Séverine Teisseire
The Board is the managing head of the Parent Association. There are 6 to 8 meetings each year and members are invited to join at least one committee. The Board members must represent a panel of the school sections (French, French bilingual and International streams) as well as primary and secondary grades.
The Primary School Council (primary and kindergarten) and Victor Segalen / Secondary School Councils (French stream and International stream) deal with educational matters and the internal organisation of the school. They are chaired by the Headmaster and include representatives from the Administration, Members of Staff and Parents in equal numbers. Their deliberations are submitted to the Board for any question other than pedagogical. Those councils are essential for smooth management of the FIS “Victor Segalen” and the role of parents who accept that responsibility is vital.
New members of school councils have also been elected on 03.12.2016, find out their names on your parent portal.
