OIB students take part in the “Shake Me Up” Festival

In 2017 we took part in the international “Shake Me Up” festival coordinated by Mrs O’Brien. In groups or individually, we created films which were a few minutes long and based on the theme of Shakespeare or a piece of his text. OIB students at FIS judged videos from a school in the USA and the American students judged ours. Our winners were groups from 5ème, 3ème and 1ère. We were really impressed by the inventiveness and variety of videos sent to us. From our side, we really enjoyed studying literature from a different perspective and are very proud of our films. “Shake Me Up” was an excellent opportunity to celebrate Shakespeare’s genius.

Poem about the “Shake Me Up” Festival

In 2017

All students were on screens

The Shake Me Up festival

Was international

In groups or alone

Using cameras or our phones

We showed the whole world our imagination

By sharing all our creations

Paired with a school in the United States

We chose their fates

Not only we saw intelligence, talent and originality

We enjoyed every minute of it

From hysterical laughter to deep emotions

We were stunned by their implication

Winners at the FIS are from 5eme, 3eme and 1ere OIB classes

But we are all proud of how we managed it

Fiction to non-fiction

Traditional to avant-garde

Narrative to non-narrative

Everyone was enthusiastic

All videos were fantastic

What an ideal moment

To celebrate Shakespeare’s endowment!
