No trace of toxic chemicals on the astro-turf at CW

FIS would like to reassure parents about the safety of its artificial turf further to the controversy surrounding the pitches at Happy Valley and ESF schools which was brought to light in the South China Morning Post on 9 January.

The turf at Chai Wan has particulate infill but this does not contain any materials which are a health hazard. The backing is made up of silica only and not rubber balls like the artificial pitches at Happy Valley.

As for the astro-turf at Blue Pool Road and Jardine’s, this does not have particulate infill.

Our students’ health is first and foremost and FIS does all it can to safeguard it.
