Meeting with 2 Nobel Laureates and an Academician

In the first term, TS1 students attended a talk by the 1986 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, Jean-Marie Lehn, at CityU. The title of the talk was: “From Matter to Life: Chemistry? Chemistry!“.

Students were able to follow the presentation as references were made to the Première and Terminale Physical Chemistry syllabus. Many questions were raised about the topics explored.

Afterwards, students had the chance to spend a long time asking their questions to Jean-Marie Lehn, Serge Haroche (2012 Nobel Laureate in Physics) and Jean Salençon (Member of the French Academy of Sciences and its President from 2009 to 2010.

Before leaving, Jean Salençon offered to come to FIS and meet our other students.
