A Look Back at Jardine's Fair - International Day

As the school year is coming to an end, Jardine’s Lookout celebrated its “International Day” on June 1st, following the TKO and Chai Wan Fairs that took place last October and February.

This year, the JL Campus Fair aimed at highlighting the 40 nationalities represented at FIS and promoting the cultural and international diversity that stands as a core aspect of our school. It ran from 10am to 5pm with a larger turnout in the afternoon, after a rainy morning and despite fickle weather.

The programme included an incredibly varied array of activities: country booths ranging from Ecuador and Switzerland to Albania, Mali and India, various workshops for children (coding, calligraphy, kung-fu…), books and uniforms swap, introduction to sailing, international food and delicacies, (the ever-popular!) bouncy castle and for the first time a dedicated “Green Committee.”

A series of shows were also given throughout the day, starting with the students’ choir and later a performance by Ferdinand the Magician (thanks to the generous support of UFE) who invited several children onto the stage with him.

A capoeira demonstration was then given to the sound of live drums, followed by a traditional costume parade and a concert gathering the children enrolled in ECA.

The day ended with a lucky draw which allowed a lucky family to win a complimentary stay in Sanya, China, provided by our sponsor Club Med.

It was a dense, beautiful day! Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our wonderful team of volunteer parents who gave their everything to assist our staff and make this event a true success. Thank you!
