Hong Kong meets Salta, Argentina: South American pen pals for the LFI 2nde students

For several months, the 2nde A/D/E students have corresponded en español with students of the ‘Colegio Secundario 5073’ located in Rosario de Lerma, in the Salta province (North-West of Argentina).

The goal of this project initiated by Spanish teacher Indiana Kind Medina was to introduce our students to reading and writing ‘traditional’ letters, as well as to enable them to get acquainted with Spanish-speaking people living halfway across the world. The letters they wrote to each other dealt primarily with how teenagers live different lives in such different cities, but also referred to the local geography, holidays and traditions in Hong Kong and Argentina. The dual objective that had been set initially was therefore achieved.

Our gratitude goes to the Salta students who consistently wrote to their LFI pen pal over 2 school years (due to the local calendar in the Southern hemisphere). And many thanks to their teacher, Mrs Mirta Girón, for her patience and dedication to complete this project.
